Red Carpet & Pageant in
Tokyo

Clients in Tokyo commission from our Windhoek atelier the same way clients across the road do: a video consultation, a measured brief, a posted toile and photographed fit checks. Nothing about the garment is compromised by the distance — only the fitting-room chair is missing.

Red Carpet & Pageant for Tokyo

A pageant stage and a press line are the same problem: harsh directional light, hundreds of frames, and one silhouette that has to read from the back of the room. We design for the walk, the turn and the still.

We test under lighting before delivery — sequin direction, bead reflectivity and lining opacity all behave differently on camera than in a fitting room. Movement is choreographed into the cut.

For Tokyo we favour silk gazar, precise tailored crêpe and clean unfussy surfaces that photograph sharply.
