We work from family reference, photographs and the elders' expectations, then cut it to fit properly — because heritage dressing borrowed and safety-pinned never photographs the way it should.
For Shanghai we favour silk gazar, precise tailored crêpe and clean unfussy surfaces that photograph sharply.
