A plain gown is the most demanding thing we make. With no lace or beading to distract the eye, every seam, every grain line and every millimetre of fit is visible. Simplicity is a construction standard, not a saving.

Undecorated crêpe and satin are cut on a strict grain, with French seams and a bias-faced neckline so nothing shows through. The interest comes from the line itself — a low back, an architectural shoulder, a single fold at the hip.

Most Paarl weddings we dress are on wine estates with a walk between the ceremony and the reception — gravel, lawn and often a slope. We weight hems to stay clean off the ground, keep trains detachable or bustled properly, and finish the interior so the gown can be worn for ten hours without a single adjustment. Fittings are handled remotely with a posted toile, or in person if you're already travelling to Windhoek.

Simple does not mean quick — plain fabric shows every correction, so we allow the same fitting schedule.
