A traditional wedding dress for Cape Town

Most of our brides dress twice — once for the traditional ceremony and once for the white wedding — and the traditional outfit is too often treated as the lesser garment. We give it the same pattern drafting, the same fittings and the same finishing.

We work with the fabric your family has chosen, whether that is shweshwe, Venda or Xhosa cloth, isiZulu beadwork or West African lace, and draft a modern pattern around it. Headpieces and wraps are made to match, and we advise on how the outfit will move during the ceremony.

We never copy a family design without permission, and we will not reproduce another designer's photograph.

Fittings from Cape Town

Cape Town brides work with us remotely and comfortably: a video consultation to begin, a measurement appointment with a local seamstress we brief directly, a toile posted to you for a photographed fit check, then two refinement rounds before the finished gown is couriered to Cape Town with a steaming and dressing guide. Brides who prefer to visit the Windhoek atelier condense the process into two unhurried trips.
